Experimental and theoretical elastic studies on neodymium-doped zinc tellurite glasses

S. N. Nazrin et al.

Summary: The melt-quenching method was used to synthesize a series of neodymium-doped zinc tellurite glass, in which the prepared glasses exhibited non-linear variations in elastic parameters as the Nd2O3 content increased. Theoretical data sets for the elastic properties of the glass systems were obtained using different models, with the Rocherulle and Mackenzie models showing the best agreement with experimental data.

Optical properties and radiation shielding performance of tellurite glasses containing Li2O and MoO3

M. S. Al-Buriahi et al.

Summary: This research examines the optical properties and radiation shielding performance of tellurite glasses containing Li2O and MoO3. The results show that increasing the Li2O content leads to increased optical transmission and decreased static dielectric constant. FLUKA simulation was used to evaluate the radiation shielding performance, revealing the attenuation factors and transmission factors for the glass samples. A comparison with commercially available glasses confirmed their usefulness as transparent shielding materials in various applications.
