Viscosity and fragility of selected glass-forming chalcogenides

Petr Kostal et al.

Summary: Experimental viscosity data for (GeSe2)x(Sb2Se3)100-x melts obtained by PAMFT were fitted using the MYEGA equation over a broad temperature range. The study analyzed fragility concepts for the studied glass-forming system and developed a simple procedure for viscosity data extrapolation, discussing its validity.

Relationship between crystal growth and surface/volume mobilities in Se95Te5 bulk glasses and thin films

Simona Martinkova et al.

Summary: The mobility of structural units in amorphous materials plays a significant role in crystal growth. Crystal growth in Se95Te5 bulk and thin films is influenced by viscosity and surface diffusion, with surface crystal growth exhibiting behavior similar to organic molecular glasses. Near-surface viscosities in Se95Te5 samples show similar values to bulk viscosities.

Crystal growth in Ge-Sb-Se glass and its relation to viscosity and surface diffusion

Diego Valdes et al.

Summary: The crystal growth kinetics of Sb2Se3 in (GeSe2)x(Sb2Se3)1-x were studied, revealing two types of crystal growth: lateral crystal growth at the surface and crystal growth in the volume of the bulk sample. The transport of structural units during crystal growth can be described by viscosity in volume crystal growth, while it is influenced by surface diffusion in surface crystal growth.

Combination of indirect and direct approaches to the description of complex crystallization behavior in GeSe2-rich region of pseudobinary GeSe2-Sb2Se3 system

Pavla Honcova et al.

Summary: The crystallization behavior of the (GeSe2)(x)(Sb2Se3)(1-x) system for x = 0.6-0.9 was studied using DSC, infrared microscopy, and X-ray diffractometry. The complex process involved nucleation and growth of Sb2Se3 and GeSe2 phases. By fitting deconvoluted DSC curves with a combination of kinetic models, reliable kinetic parameters were obtained, consistent with direct observations of crystal growth.
