Physical and elastic properties of TeO2-Gd2O3 glasses: Role of zinc oxide contents variation

Saba Farhan Hathot et al.

Summary: This study investigated the physical and elastic properties of glasses with different ZnO concentrations. The results showed that an increase in ZnO content led to a decrease in glass density, ultrasonic velocities, elastic moduli, and fractal bond connectivity values. These findings suggest that the influence of ZnO contents on the physical and elastic features of the glasses could be beneficial for various functional applications in photonics and optoelectronics.

Structural, chemical and magnetic features of gold nanoshapes integrated-Er2O3-doped tellurite glass system prepared by a conventional melt-quenching technique

A. A. Salim et al.

Summary: Rare earth ions-doped oxide glasses with improved traits were customized by embedding gold nanoshapes (Au-NSPs) in Er3+-doped lead-tellurite glasses, optimizing their morphology, structure, chemical, and magnetic properties through varying heat treatment durations. The glasses exhibited amorphous nature, homogeneous distribution of Au-NSPs within a network matrix, and detection of various significant chemical functional groups. The magnetic behavior of the glasses was attributed to the diffusion-limited growth of Au-NSPs, showing promising potential for functional applications such as biomedical devices.
