Categorizing objects from MEG signals using EEGNet

Ran Shi et al.

Summary: The study utilized a compact convolutional neural network-EEGNet- to build a common decoder model across subjects, successfully deciphering object categories in MEG data. The research also found that the parallel convolution structures in EEGNet are beneficial for extracting and fusing spatial and temporal MEG features, leading to improved classification accuracy.

Decoding sensorimotor information from superior parietal lobule of macaque via Convolutional Neural Networks

Matteo Filippini et al.

Summary: This study investigated the information processing in different areas of the monkey's posterior parietal cortex (PPC) using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), revealing differential encoding properties. The decoding accuracies for spatial positions increased gradually after the target instructions and reached a plateau at movement onset. The study highlights the usefulness of firing rate decoding via CNNs to understand the encoding of sensorimotor information in PPC for reaching movements.
