Summary: A new nanocatalyst system, named Pd NPs@ZnAl LDH-Sch, was developed by immobilizing Pd nanoparticles on Schiff base-functionalized Zn-Al layered double hydroxide. This nanocatalyst displayed tolerance to various functional groups and showed excellent performance in the synthesis of benzonitriles. It acts heterogeneously, allowing for easy recovery and reuse.

Summary: The present study successfully synthesized functionalized hexagonal mesoporous silica and incorporated xanthine-Ni complex and 4-phenylthiosemicarbazide-Cu complex into it. The characterization using various techniques confirmed the synthesis of catalysts. The catalytic activity evaluation showed that HMS/Pr-PTSC-Cu exhibited higher efficiency in green media with good recoverability.
