Mechanism of cellulose regeneration from its ionic liquid solution as revealed by infrared spectroscopy

Bingrui Liu et al.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the mechanism of cellulose regeneration from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC)/1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([Emim]Ac) solution using time-dependent infrared spectroscopy combined with two-dimensional spectral analysis. The results reveal the impact of water diffusion on the structural changes of cellulose, proposing a two-stage model.

Detection and quantitation of cellulose II by Raman spectroscopy

Umesh P. Agarwal et al.

Summary: In cellulose materials, the cellulose II allomorph is important and can be detected using Raman spectroscopy. This study developed a calibration method based on Raman intensities at specific peaks to quantitatively analyze the content of cellulose II in samples. The Raman method was found to be more sensitive than X-ray diffraction in detecting and quantifying cellulose II.

Titania modified gum tragacanth based hydrogel nanocomposite for water remediation

Bhawna Sharma et al.

Summary: In this study, GumT-cl-HEMA hydrogel was synthesized with maximum swelling achieved by green polymerization technique, and further modified using TiO2 nanoparticles to create GumT-cl-HEMA/TiO2 hydrogel composite. The composite showed increased adsorption rates and stability, successfully removing malachite green dye from water.
