Di-Triphenylamine-based AIE active Schiff base for highly sensitive and selective fluorescence sensing of Cu2+ and Fe3+

Yash B. Barot et al.

Summary: In this study, the Di-Triphenylamine based Schiff base DTPA-SB was synthesized through simple steps and extensively characterized. The Schiff base exhibited aggregation-induced enhanced emission (AIEE) properties and showed significantly increased fluorescence intensity in a DMF/water mixture. It also demonstrated selective recognition of Cu2+ and Fe3+ ions. The compound has potential applications in heavy metal sensing, OLEDs, and AIEE.

Phenothiazine and triphenylamine-based fluorescent Schiff bases for the dual application of white light generation and H2O2 sensing

Yash B. Barot et al.

Summary: Two Schiff bases based on triphenylamine and phenothiazine were synthesized and their fluorescence emission properties were investigated. It was found that both molecules, when mixed with the dye Rh-B, produced efficient white light emissions in solution and ionic liquid media. Mechanistic studies revealed that the white light emission was due to Forster resonance energy transfer. Additionally, one of the Schiff bases showed excellent fluorescence sensing response towards hydrogen peroxide, and a paper-based fluorescent sensor device was fabricated based on this Schiff base.
