The Effect of Online Health Information Seeking on Physician-Patient Relationships: Systematic Review

Summary: The study systematically investigates the impact of OHI-seeking behavior on the physician-patient relationship. The findings show that OHI-seeking behavior affects patients' psychology, behavior, and evaluation of doctors. The discussion of OHI with doctors has different effects on the physician-patient relationship. The negative impact of OHI on Chinese internet users is noteworthy, and improving health information literacy and the quality of OHI are important factors for promoting a positive impact on the physician-patient relationship.
