Synthesis and characteristic studies on pure and nano silver oxide-doped polypyrrole for supercapacitor application

M. Vinitha et al.

Summary: Polypyrrole (PPy) is a commonly used polymer with higher conductivity than other conducting polymers. Synthetic pure PPy and doped n-Ag2OPPy were characterized, showing excellent electrical properties and structural features. The increased conductivity is due to the additional effect of conductivity from the interfacial capacitive region.

Charge Transport Through Polypyrrole and Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube Composite: A Thermoelectric Material

Mukulika Jana Chatterjee et al.

Summary: A polypyrrole-single-walled carbon nanotube (PPY-SWCNT) composite has been prepared using chemical oxidative in situ polymerization with 5 wt.% of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) to compare the thermoelectric properties of polypyrrole (PPY) and the composite. The formation mechanism of the composite has been discussed based on the carrier transport mechanism, and transport parameters have been calculated and correlated with the structure formation. The dependence of carrier concentration and mobility of charge carrier on temperature has been obtained based on the charge carrier transport in PPY and PPY-SWCNT composite.

Polypyrrole material for the electrostatic discharge sensitivity mitigation of Al/SnO2 energetic composites

Pierre Gibot et al.

Summary: This study investigated the use of doped-polypyrrole conducting polymer in Al/SnO2 nanothermite to reduce its electrostatic discharge sensitivity, showing a gradual desensitization of ESD with increasing polypyrrole content. The reactive properties of polypyrrole-enriched nanothermite were verified, indicating an acceptable reactive behavior. This is the first report of successful addition of doped-polypyrrole conducting polymer in energetic nanocomposites.

The influence of the oxidant on structural and morphological properties of conductive polypyrrole

Niyanta Dave et al.

Summary: Polypyrrole was synthesized using ferric chloride as an oxidant to oxidize the monomer Pyrrole, with different oxidant to monomer ratios resulting in varying conductivity and morphology. The synthesized black powders were characterized using SEM, FTIR, and XRD, with observed shifts in absorption bands and an amorphous nature shown in the XRD pattern. Overall, the study successfully demonstrated the synthesis and characterization of Polypyrrole with varying properties.
