Enhancement of multifunctional optoelectronic and spintronic applications of nanostructured Cr-doped SnO2 thin films by conducting microstructural, optical, and magnetic measurements

M. Emam-Ismail et al.

Summary: Chemical synthesis was used to produce Cr-doped SnO2 nanoparticles, which were confirmed to have nanocrystalline nature. Thin films with different Cr concentrations were deposited using the electron beam technique, and their physical properties were examined. Optical measurements showed a decrease in direct optical energy gap and an increase in refractive index with increasing Cr content. Additionally, room temperature ferromagnetism was observed in the film with a small fraction of Cr doping, making it a promising candidate for optoelectronic and spintronic applications.

Investigation of thermal annealing effect on the microstructure, morphology, linear and non-linear optical properties of spray deposited nanosized V2O5 thin films

H. Khmissi et al.

Summary: The study investigated the influence of annealing temperature on the crystallization, morphological, and optical properties of polycrystalline sprayed V2O5. It was found that thermal annealing improved the degree of crystallization and increased both direct and indirect energy band gaps with increasing temperature. The effects on optical properties were evaluated and discussed using various parameters and models.

Effect of implanted copper into 1 μm cadmium telluride thick film by heat treatment for optoelectronics: Structural optical, and electrical properties

Safwat A. Mahmoud et al.

Summary: This study focused on depositing a cadmium telluride (CdTe) film on a glass substrate using the evaporation technique, followed by infusing copper onto the film through an ion exchange process. Annealing at different temperatures allowed for the diffusion of copper content, leading to changes in the band gap, resistance, and Hall mobility of the CdTe: Cu film. The optical and electrical properties of the annealed films make them promising candidates for solar cell applications.

Optical and microstructural characterization of nanocrystalline Cu doped ZnO diluted magnetic semiconductor thin film for optoelectronic applications

Gharieb A. Ali et al.

Summary: A series of Zn1-xCuxO nanocrystalline films were deposited on a silica substrate using e-beam evaporation technology, where Cu doping was found to improve the optical energy band gap and other optical properties of the films. The research findings suggest that Cu doped ZnO films have great potential for optoelectronic device applications due to the tunability of various optical parameters with increasing Cu doping levels.

Optical properties upon ZnS film thickness in ZnS/ITO/glass multilayer films by ellipsometric and spectrophotometric investigations for solar cell and optoelectronic applications

Meshal Alzaid et al.

Summary: The study examined the structural and optical properties of ZnS films deposited on ITO coated glass substrate. Results show that an increase in ZnS layer thickness leads to higher refractive index and extinction coefficient, while decreasing the energy band gap. This is attributed to the increase in grain size affecting the optical characteristics of the films.
