Tunneling Electron Transport in ZnO Nanograins Prepared by Electrospinning Method: An Ethyl Acetate Vapour Sensor by Chemiresistive Method

Roopa Kishore Kampara et al.

Summary: In this work, PVA-based ZnO nanofibers were successfully deposited using the electrospinning method. The resulting ZnO nanofibers had an average diameter of 514 nm and exhibited a one-dimensional structure. After calcination, ZnO nanograins with an average diameter of 32 nm were obtained, showing polycrystalline characteristics. The ZnO nanograins demonstrated good sensing properties towards ethyl acetate vapor at 350 degrees C, with rapid response and recovery times.

Visible light assisted acetone sensing characteristics of ZnO deposited over LED

T. Sonia et al.

Summary: ZnO nanostructures were deposited on LED to minimize light loss and achieve low power consumption for vapor detection, with XRD studies confirming polycrystalline nature and morphology analysis showing randomly oriented nanowires. Light-assisted acetone detection in mixed vapor environments was investigated, along with proposing a detection mechanism under light illuminated conditions.

Atomic layer deposition of ZnO on SnO2 nanospheres for enhanced formaldehyde detection

Chengming Lou et al.

Summary: A highly sensitive and selective gas sensor for detecting formaldehyde was reported in this study, based on SnO2/ZnO hetemspheres designed by atomic layer deposition (ALD). The ZnO ALD significantly improved sensor properties such as higher responses, faster response-recovery dynamics and better selectivity. The study demonstrates the promising potential of ALD surface engineering for designing new materials for reliable detection of harmful molecules.

A high-response formaldehyde sensor based on fibrous Ag-ZnO/In2O3 with multi-level heterojunctions

Jingjing Liu et al.

Summary: A high-response formaldehyde gas sensor based on Ag-ZnO/In2O3 nanofibers was successfully fabricated, showing superior sensitivity, selectivity and stability, with an ultra-high response value towards formaldehyde. The low detection limit of the sensor can be mainly attributed to the proper design of multi-level heterojunctions, which significantly enhance the sensing performance.
