Synthesis growth and studies on optical, thermal and terahertz analyses of bulk size sodium acid phthalate single crystal: a metal-organic material for nonlinear optical applications

Manju Kumari et al.

Summary: In this study, an optical grade semi-organic single crystal of sodium acid phthalate (NaAP) was synthesized using the slow evaporation solution growth technique (SEST). The crystal exhibited promising nonlinear optical (NLO) properties and was found to belong to an orthorhombic structure with B2ab space group. Various analyses were performed to evaluate the structural, optical, thermal, and nonlinear properties of the NaAP crystal, indicating its potential for optical limiting applications.

Investigation on synthesis, growth, Hirshfeld surface and third order nonlinear optical properties of Urea-Succinic Acid single crystal: A potential candidate for self-defocusing lasing application

Debabrata Nayak et al.

Summary: A wide optical band gap Urea-Succinic Acid (USA) single crystal was successfully grown using slow evaporation solution growth techniques. The structure and optical properties of the crystal were analyzed and measured, showing significant emission at 460 nm and a defect energy state in the band structure. The nonlinear optical variables and laser damage threshold were also evaluated.

Phase Diversity Electro-optic Sampling: A new approach to single-shot terahertz waveform recording

Eleonore Roussel et al.

Summary: Recording electric field evolution in single-shot with THz bandwidth is of great importance in various scientific fields. This study introduces a new spectral decoding technique that enables the recording and analysis of THz waveforms with unprecedented resolution over a long time window. Experimental results demonstrate the potential of this technique in accelerator physics and other applications.

Thermal Deformations of Crystal Structures in the L-Aspartic Acid/L-Glutamic Acid System and DL-Aspartic Acid

Roman Sadovnichii et al.

Summary: The elevated temperature behavior of several amino acids was determined using temperature-resolved powder X-ray diffraction (TRPXRD), showing that they only undergo thermal deformations without solid-phase transformations. The study revealed a correlation between the thermal expansion coefficients of amino acid crystal structures and the characteristics of hydrogen bonds.
