Multiple machine learning models for prediction of CO2 solubility in potassium and sodium based amino acid salt solutions

Guanwei Yin et al.

Summary: In this study, artificial intelligence-based models were developed to predict and correlate CO2 solubility in amino acid solutions for CO2 capture. Three potential models were tested, with AdaBoost-DT showing the highest R-2 Score of 0.998, confirming its excellent prediction capabilities.

FABRICATION OF PROTECTIVE SiC/TiO2/SiO2 COATING FOR GRAPHITE ELECTRODES

Hossein Alian Moghadam et al.

Summary: The demand for graphite electrodes in steel making factories is rapidly increasing, and prolonging the working life of these electrodes is crucial for improving the efficiency of the steel melting process. The SiC/TiO2/SiO2 coating can effectively reduce oxidation and mass loss rate of the graphite matrix at high temperatures, ensuring stability and longevity of the graphite electrodes.

Effects of TiO2/SiC/SiO2 coating on graphite electrode consumption in sublimation and oxidation states as determined by EAF simulation and experimental methods

Hossein Alian Moghadam et al.

Summary: The consumption of graphite electrodes in arc furnaces is a major factor in steel production costs, and reducing consumption can help lower production costs. This study uses simulation and experimental methods to analyze the effects of using a TiO2/SiC/SiO2 coating on electrode consumption, finding that coating can optimize consumption. Furthermore, simulations show that coating electrodes with layers of varying thickness can effectively change the conical height of the electrode head.
