Modified honey badger algorithm based global MPPT for triple-junction solar photovoltaic system under partial shading condition and global optimization

Ahmed M. Nassef et al.

Summary: In recent years, Metaheuristic Algorithms (MHs) have been developed and widely applied to solve various optimization problems. Honey Badger Algorithm (HBA) is a new MHs algorithm, but it has some drawbacks. To improve the performance of HBA, researchers propose an enhanced method called mHBA, which incorporates an efficient local search method called Dimensional Learning Hunting (DLH). Additionally, this study focuses on the global maximum power point tracking (MPPT) problem in photovoltaic systems and evaluates the performance of mHBA in this application.

An enhanced honey badger algorithm based on Levy flight and refraction opposition-based learning for engineering design problems

Yaning Xiao et al.

Summary: Honey badger algorithm (HBA) is a meta-heuristic algorithm that simulates the search behavior of honey badgers. In this paper, an enhanced honey badger algorithm (EHBA) is proposed to address the weaknesses of HBA. EHBA improves search quality by increasing population diversity, integrating Levy flight, and applying refraction opposition-based learning. Experimental results demonstrate that EHBA outperforms other algorithms in terms of solution accuracy, local optima avoidance, and stability, highlighting its applicability in real-world optimization tasks.

Generalized Type-2 Fuzzy Parameter Adaptation in the Marine Predator Algorithm for Fuzzy Controller Parameterization in Mobile Robots

Felizardo Cuevas et al.

Summary: This article discusses the application of generalized type-2 fuzzy systems in a metaheuristic algorithm based on predator-prey feeding strategies. The fuzzy marine predator algorithm (FMPA) is introduced as an improved variant of the original marine predator algorithm (MPA), balancing exploration and exploitation in its iterations. The results show that the generalized FMPA provides better solutions. The article also presents the application of FMPA in fuzzy control design.

Adaptive Coupling Anti-Swing Tracking Control of Underactuated Dual Boom Crane Systems

Yu Fu et al.

Summary: The article designs an adaptive sliding mode tracking controller for underactuated dual boom crane systems to achieve both anti-swing and trajectory tracking control in the presence of parametric uncertainties. The controller ensures state variables convergence to the proposed sliding surface within finite time and completely eliminates payload swing angles, thereby guaranteeing working efficiency and operation safety. Rigorous mathematical analysis based on Lyapunov techniques and Barbalat's lemma prove the stability and convergence of the equilibrium point of the closed-loop system, and hardware experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the presented controller.
