Various analytical techniques confirmed the morphology, composition, distribution, phase purity, and crystallinity of the composites. Electrochemical tests revealed that the composite with 6 phr of GO exhibited the highest specific capacity, attributed to the synergistic effect of the constituent materials.

Enhancement of polypyrrole electrochemical performance with graphene quantum dots in polypyrrole nanoparticle/graphene quantum dot composites

Summary: The influence of graphene quantum dots (GQDs) on the physicochemical properties of polypyrrole nanoparticles (PpyNPs) was investigated experimentally and theoretically. The synthesis of the non-covalent PpyNPs/ GQDs material was based on the known procedure of chemical pyrrole polymerization. The obtained hybrids were in the form of spherical polymeric particles coated with GQDs, and the morphology and porosity of the materials were influenced by the polymerization conditions. The electrode processes on the electrode modified with the PpyNPs/GQDs composite were found to be significantly different from those involving pristine PpyNPs, with faster charge transfer processes and improved electrochemical behavior observed for the composite material.

Polypyrrole-coated conjugated microporous polymers/expanded graphene carbon aerogels based phase change materials composites for efficient energy conversion and storage

The resulting PCMPECAs/HDA composites exhibited excellent comprehensive performances, including high thermal conductivity, energy storage density, thermal stability, photothermal conversion and storage efficiency, and latent heat. Therefore, PCMPECAs/HDA composites hold great potential for solar/electric energy conversion and storage applications.

Polypyrrole nanoparticles of high electroactivity. Simple synthesis methods and studies on electrochemical properties

Summary: Two simple and templateless methods for synthesizing polypyrrole nanoparticles are described in this paper, with oxidation of pyrrole monomer by either iron(III) toluenesulfonate or potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) in the presence of alternating polymers micelles or poly(vinyl alcohol) as the dispersing medium. TEM images confirmed uniform nanoparticles around 60 nm were obtained. The electrochemical properties of the nanoparticles when drop casted onto electrodes were studied and showed high electroactivity, fast ion exchange, and almost capacitive properties in the oxidized state.
