Mono and binary mixture removal of eriochrome black T and Cr(VI) from water by SiO2/polyaniline composite

Summary: This study investigated the uptake of hexavalent chromium Cr(VI) and eriochrome black T (EBT) dye over SiO2/polyaniline composite in wastewater. The composite showed better adsorption performance compared to the polyaniline polymer (PAni). Kinetic investigations revealed that both Cr(VI) and EBT adsorption followed a pseudo second order kinetic model. The hybrid Langmuir-Freundlich isotherm correlated with the obtained findings in both single and binary systems.

Ammonia synthesis using Co catalysts supported on MgO-Nd2O3 mixed oxide systems: Effect of support composition

Summary: This study explores the use of mixed MgO-Nd2O3 oxide supports for the dispersion of Co metal for ammonia synthesis. Different ratios of Mg/Nd were evaluated, and it was found that the support composition significantly influenced the catalyst performance. The catalyst with a Mg/Nd molar ratio of 10 exhibited the highest number of basic sites and the best dispersion of Co particles, resulting in superior activity for ammonia synthesis.

Summary: Various factors can cause damage to the skin, leading to wounds. Nonhealing or chronic wounds have a severe impact on patients' well-being and impose heavy burdens on society. The use of nanomaterials has shown promise in promoting wound healing due to their unique physicochemical characteristics at the nanoscale. This review provides an overview of wound categories, the wound healing process, and critical influencing factors, and discusses the applications of nanomaterials with intrinsic therapeutic effects and nanomaterials-based drug delivery systems in promoting wound healing. Limitations and future perspectives of nanomaterials in wound healing are also discussed.

Synergetic removal of oppositely charged dyes by co-precipitation and amphoteric self-floating capturer: Mechanism investigation by molecular simulation

Summary: In this study, an amphoteric self-floating adsorbent (Am-SA) was synthesized to capture dyes in a wide pH range. The co-precipitation phenomenon of dyes was observed and the mechanism was revealed through simulation. The aggregation phenomena were also observed in various mixed dye systems. The utilization of co-precipitation and adsorption mechanisms can significantly improve dye removal. This study is of great importance for developing cost-effective treatment strategies.

Oxidative degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride by Mn2O3/Bi2O3 photocatalysis activated peroxymonosulfate

Summary: In this study, Mn2O3/Bi2O3 catalyst was synthesized for activating PMS. The structure and morphology of the catalyst were characterized and the effects of various factors on the removal of TC-HCl were investigated. The results showed that under the optimal conditions, Mn2O3/Bi2O3/PMS/Vis exhibited high efficiency in removing TC-HCl and good performance in a wide pH range.

Synthesis of hybrid magnesium hydroxide/magnesium oxide nanorods [Mg (OH)2/MgO] for prompt and efficient adsorption of ciprofloxacin from aqueous solutions

Summary: In this study, a modified precipitation technique was used to synthesize hybrid magnesium hydroxide/magnesium oxide nanorods (Mg(OH)(2)/MgO), which showed excellent adsorption capacity for the antibiotic ciprofloxacin (CIP) in water. The synthesized Mg(OH)(2)/MgO was characterized by various analysis techniques. The results demonstrated that Mg(OH)(2)/MgO efficiently removed CIP from water within a short period of time, and its adsorption capacity was at least 2-fold higher compared to other reported nanomaterials. The spent Mg(OH)(2)/MgO was also analyzed, revealing the mechanisms responsible for CIP adsorption. Additionally, the promising performance of Mg(OH)(2)/MgO in treating simulated CIP-contaminated river water was demonstrated.

Highly efficient photocatalytic activity of visible-light-driven Mn2O3/ WO3 nanocomposite

Adsorption kinetics for the removal of harmful EBT dye by polyvinyl palmitate as effective adsorbents

Summary: Five different compositions of polyvinylpalmitate esters were prepared with varying ratios of polyvinyl alcohol and palmitic acid, and their adsorption characteristics for Eriochrome Black - T dye were evaluated. The adsorption isotherms fit well with Freundlich and Langmuir models, indicating chemisorption as the mechanism for dye adsorption onto PVPs.
