Dogs can detect the individual odors in a mixture of explosives

Summary: The experiment showed that dogs trained on mixtures of three or five different odors were able to detect the individual odors when each component was tested. This is the first experimental proof that trained dogs can later detect the individual components of a mixture, likely due to their extensive general training in detecting odors and being reared and maintained in an enriched olfactory environment.
