Evaluation of non-thermal effect of microwave radiation and its mode of action in bacterial cell inactivation

Priyanka Shaw et al.

Summary: This study investigated the non-thermal effects of pulsed microwave radiation (PMR) on bacterial systems, particularly focusing on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Results showed a significant reduction in bacterial viability with increasing doses of microwave radiation. Scanning electron microscopy analysis revealed surface damage in the bacteria post-exposure to PMR.
