Autophagic Schwann cells promote perineural invasion mediated by the NGF/ATG7 paracrine pathway in pancreatic cancer

Wunai Zhang et al.

Summary: Autophagy and perineural invasion (PNI) in pancreatic cancer have negative effects on prognosis. Schwann cells (SCs) in PNI are activated through NGF-mediated autophagy, promoting PNI by enhancing migration and axon guidance towards cancer cells and increasing chemoattraction. Targeting NGF and autophagy for PNI treatment can block nerve infiltration.

Prognostic significance of SHP2 (PTPN11) expression in solid tumors: A meta-analysis

Jiupeng Zhou et al.

Summary: This study conducted a meta-analysis to assess the prognostic value of SHP2 in tumor patients. The results showed that the expression of SHP2 was not significantly correlated with clinical stages, DFS, and OS in most solid tumors. However, the prognostic effect varied greatly with tumor sites, with SHP2 expression being positively related to early clinical stage in hepatocellular carcinoma and associated with shorter OS in pancreatic carcinoma and laryngeal carcinoma.

Crosstalk between KRAS, SRC and YAP Signaling in Pancreatic Cancer: Interactions Leading to Aggressive Disease and Drug Resistance

Enrique Rozengurt et al.

Summary: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a devastating disease, and recent literature on the complex crosstalk between KRAS, YAP, and Src tyrosine kinase family (SFK) in PDAC development and maintenance highlights new mechanistic and translational advances. Studies have shown the importance of RAS dimerization in signal transduction and how certain SFK members can phosphorylate and inhibit RAS function, suggesting a less crucial role for RAS in certain subtypes of PDAC. This points to the potential of targeting SFK to combat drug resistance and aggressive features in PDAC treatment.

A review on network pharmacology based phytotherapy in treating diabetes- An environmental perspective

Meenakshi R. Venkateswaran et al.

Summary: Diabetes is associated with obesity and cardiovascular diseases, with environmental factors and unhealthy dieting playing vital roles. Traditional herbal medicine can be an alternative therapy, but the lack of standardized procedures and knowledge on drug safety pose challenges. Heavy metal contamination from industrial and agricultural activities can make plants inappropriate for phytotherapy due to long-term health effects.

Caspase-3-mediated GSDME induced Pyroptosis in breast cancer cells through the ROS/JNK signalling pathway

Ziwen Zhang et al.

Summary: The study investigated the potential link between DOX-induced cell death and pyroptosis in two human breast cancer cell lines (MDA-MB-231 and T47D), confirming that DOX treatment reduced cell viability and induced pyroptosis morphology. Protein expression analyses highlighted GSDME as a key regulator in DOX-induced pyroptosis and emphasized the role of Caspase-3 activation. Furthermore, DOX treatments induced intracellular accumulation of ROS, JNK phosphorylation, and Caspase-3 activation.
