Rhodamine B Photodegradation in Aqueous Solutions Containing Nitrogen Doped TiO2 and Carbon Nanotubes Composites

Adelina Udrescu et al.

Summary: The study found that the sample containing TiO2:N and 2.5 wt.% SWNT-COOH exhibited the best photocatalytic performance with an 85% dye removal rate after 300 minutes of UV irradiation. The TiO2:N/CNT mixture showed higher photodegradation efficiency than TiO2:N, attributed to the presence of CNTs which act as adsorbent and dispersing agent, capturing the photogenerated electrons of TiO2:N and hindering electron-hole recombination.
