By replacing harmful ZnO particles with Fe2O3-PLA particles, a remarkable increase in SPF performance was achieved, providing higher level of UV protection.

Chitosan-based nanofibers have unique properties that make them a promising candidate for an effective topical drug delivery system. By optimizing the assay using various methods such as AFM and SEM, the nanofiber system showed significant colchicine deposition in the skin with remarkable cytotoxicity against melanoma cell line, making it a desirable formulation for neoadjuvant chemotherapy and adjuvant therapy of tumors.

Coaxially electrospun 5-fluorouracil-loaded PLGA/PVP fibrous membrane for skin tumor treatment

Summary: In this study, 5-fluorouracil was embedded in the core of PLGA fibers to create drug-loaded core-shell fibrous membranes for potential skin tumor treatment. The release behaviors were influenced by the molecular weights and chemical compositions of the PLGA copolymers, with faster release rates observed for copolymers with lower molecular weights and higher fraction of glycidyl unit. Cytotoxicity experiments demonstrated that all prepared 5-FU loaded fibrous membranes were non-cytotoxic, indicating their potential applications in skin tumor treatment.
