The quantum origin of quasi de Sitter: a model independent quantum cosmological tilt

Cesar Gomez et al.

Summary: The most robust prediction of inflation driven by a single field is the existence of a red tilt for the spectrum of curvature fluctuations that is experimentally of order 0.04. This is derived by solving the exact equation for quantum fluctuations in a quasi de Sitter background with a small but non-vanishing first slow-roll parameter. The lack of scale invariance associated with the tilt is classical in essence and parametrized by the slow roll parameter of the inflaton potential. A purely quantum mechanical and model independent derivation of the tilt is presented based on two observations: the correlator for the Mukhanov-Sasaki gauge invariant variables is related to the quantum Fisher function, and this quantum Fisher function has a non-vanishing scale dependent red tilt that fits the effective quasi de Sitter prediction and experimental value at the energy scales of interest.

Enhanced power on small scales and evolution of quantum state of perturbations in single and two field inflationary models

Rathul Nath Raveendran et al.

Summary: With the detection of gravitational waves from merging binary black holes, there has been growing interest in understanding the origin of these black holes in the early universe. This study examines the evolution of quantum state of curvature perturbations in single and two field models of inflation, finding enhanced squeezing and entanglement entropy over small scales compared to scenarios involving only slow roll. The study also discusses the relation between entanglement entropy and quantum discord in the case of the two field model.

Benchmarking the cosmological master equations

Thomas Colas et al.

Summary: Master equations are commonly used in cosmology to model the effect of additional degrees of freedom on a given system. This study applies the master-equation program to a solvable model and finds that it exhibits spurious terms depending on initial conditions. However, when these terms are removed, the master equation accurately reproduces the characteristics of the system.
