Summary: Oscillons are long-lived, localized, oscillating nonlinear excitations of a real scalar field that can be abundantly produced during preheating after inflation. The first (3 + 1)-dimensional simulation for oscillon formation during preheating with noncanonical kinetic terms, such as the Dirac-Born-Infeld form, shows that the formation of oscillons is significantly influenced by the noncanonical effect.

Summary: Ultra-light dark matter, composed of bosons with masses ranging from 10(-24)eV < m < eV, has garnered attention for its ability to form a Bose-Einstein condensate or superfluid on galactic scales. Various models have been proposed, including fuzzy dark matter, self-interacting fuzzy dark matter, and DM superfluid, with the potential to reconcile the cold DM picture with small-scale behavior. These models present a rich phenomenology and are being tested using astrophysical and cosmological observations.
