NIR Photothermal-Enhanced Electrocatalytic and Photoelectrocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution by Polyaniline/SnS2 Nanocomposites

Ya Zhang et al.

Summary: A series of PANI-decorated SnS2 nanoplates were synthesized through a hydrothermal method and liquid-solid mixing. The PANI/SnS2 nanocomposites exhibited better NIR-enhanced electrocatalytic and photoelectrocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity, with the optimized 4% PANI/SnS2 showing the highest electric double-layer capacitance and the lowest Tafel slope. The photothermal effect and synergistic effects between SnS2 and PANI heterostructure played important roles in promoting electrocatalytic and photoelectrocatalytic hydrogen evolution processes.

Snowflake-Like Cu2S/MoS2/Pt heterostructure with near infrared photothermal-enhanced electrocatalytic and photoelectrocatalytic hydrogen production

Ya Zhang et al.

Summary: Snowflake-like Cu2S/MoS2 heterostructures were constructed via a hydrothermal method and their catalytic performances on hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) were investigated. The optimal catalyst of 45-Cu2S/MoS2 exhibited photothermal enhanced HER performance under near infrared (NIR) irradiation. By depositing Pt nanoparticles onto the heterostructures, a Schottky barrier was formed, resulting in low over potential and high Tafel slope. The photoelectrochemical (PEC) hydrogen production performance of the catalyst was also examined.

Effects of water content on electrochemical capacitive behavior of nanostructured Cu3(BTC)2 MOF prepared in aqueous solution

Eshagh Irandoost et al.

Summary: In this study, Cu-3(BTC)(2) was successfully prepared in aqueous media as a green method, and its morphology and crystallinity were studied using various techniques. The effects of uncoordinated and coordinated water molecules on the capacitive properties of Cu-3(BTC)(2) were investigated, showing that their removal significantly enhances its capacitance performance.

Cerium substitution in LaCoO3 perovskite oxide as bifunctional electrocatalysts for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions

Dingwei Ji et al.

Summary: Perovskite oxides, specifically Ce-doped LaCoO3, synthesized using microwave/ultrasound-assisted hydrothermal methods, exhibit efficient catalytic performance in oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The excellent electrocatalytic activity and long-term durability in alkaline conditions are attributed to the synergistic effects of excellent conductivity and enriched active sites resulting from A-site substitution.
