Preferential Solvation, Hansen Solubility Parameters, and Thermodynamic Behaviors of 1-Methyl-2-[(phenylthio)methyl]-3-carbethoxy-4-[(dimethylamino)methyl]-5-hydroxy-6-bromoindoleHydrochloride Monohydrate in Four Aqueous Binary Solvents

Mengqi Jiang et al.

Summary: The solubility of 1-methyl-2-[(phenylthio)methyl]-3-carbethoxy-4-[(dimethylamino)methyl]-5-hydroxy-6-bromoindole hydrochloride monohydrate (AHM) in four aqueous binary solvents was studied. The solubility was found to increase with temperature and the weight fraction of positive solvents. Various mathematical models were used to correlate the experimental data, with the NRTL model giving the best correlation. The solubility was also analyzed using the Hildebrand solubility approach, which provided accurate results. The preferential solvation of AHM in the solutions was quantitatively analyzed using the inverse Kirkwood-Buff integrals method, and it was found that AHM was preferentially solvated by the cosolvents.

Solubility Measurements of 2-(Diacetoxymethyl)-5-nitrofuran in Pure and Binary Mixture Solvents

Wei Xu et al.

Summary: In this paper, the solubility of 2-(diacetoxymethyl)-5-nitrofuran in various solvents was measured and analyzed. The results showed that the solubility increased with temperature in both pure solvents and binary solvent mixtures. Different models were used to predict and correlate the solubility, with the modified Apelblat model and the combined CNIBS/R-K model providing the best fit in pure solvent systems and binary solvent systems, respectively. The Kamlet-Taft model was used to investigate the solvation effect, revealing that solubility mainly depended on solvent polarity with a proportion of 34.3% contributed by solvent effect. The study also discussed the influence of solvent-solute interaction on solubility. These experimental data are important for technological research and drug purification production.

Solubility determination and dissolution thermodynamic properties of dodecanedioic acid in binary-mixed solvents from T = (288.15-328.15) K

Shuo Cheng et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the solubility and dissolution thermodynamic properties of dodecanedioic acid (DDDA) in four binary-mixed solvents. The results show that the solubility change is not monotonous in certain solvent compositions, and co-solvency occurs. The modified Apelblat equation and CNIBS/R-K model have better fitting results for the solubility data. Furthermore, the dissolution thermodynamic properties of DDDA are analyzed based on the modified Van't Hoff equation.
