LaF3 Solubility in Pure Water and in MSO4 (M = Zn, Mn, Mg) Aqueous Solutions at T=298.15 and 348.15 K

Qiongqiong Luo et al.

Summary: LaF3(s) has shown great potential as a compound for removing F- from heavy-metal sulfate aqueous solutions due to its extremely low solubility in pure water. This study provides the first solubility data for LaF3(s) in sulfate aqueous solutions of heavy metals. The results show that the solubility of LaF3(s) increases with the concentration of MSO4 (M = Zn, Mn, Mg) and that a lower temperature is more favorable for removing fluoride ions from these solutions using LaF3(s).
