Kinetic Origins of High Selectivity of Metal Phosphides for Ethane Dehydrogenation

Jeonghyun Ko et al.

Summary: In this study, complete ethane dehydrogenation (EDH) reaction networks over Ni and Ni2P surfaces were investigated using DFT calculations. The results showed that the intermediates were more weakly bound to Ni2P and had higher activation energies compared to Ni. Microkinetic modeling revealed that ethylene formation rates and selectivities were higher over Ni2P across a wide temperature range, while Ni was more susceptible to coke generation.

A Mechanistic Study of Methanol Steam Reforming on Ni2P Catalyst

Abdulrahman Almithn et al.

Summary: This study presents a mechanistic investigation of methanol decomposition and MSR pathways on Ni2P catalyst using density functional theory calculations. The results suggest that MSR can compete with methanol decomposition on Ni2P, unlike other transition metals which primarily generate CO rather than CO2.

A systematic study of the synthesis of transition metal phosphides and their activity for hydrodeoxygenation of phenol

Carlos V. M. Inocencio et al.

Summary: The study synthesized and tested five unsupported transition metal phosphides for hydrodeoxygenation of phenol in gas phase. In situ X-ray diffraction and temperature programmed reduction revealed the formation of different phosphide phases, influencing the product distribution significantly. The type of crystal structure of transition metal phosphides correlated with the product distribution.

Validation of the Crystallography Open Database using the Crystallographic Information Framework

Antanas Vaitkus et al.

Summary: The data curation practices of the Crystallography Open Database (COD) are described in this article, with a focus on formal validation using the Crystallographic Information Framework (CIF). The cif_validate program, capable of validating CIF files against both DDL1 and DDLm dictionaries, is presented and used to process the entire COD. Validation results from over 450000 CIF files are shown to be a valuable resource in data maintenance and ontology development, along with a set of programs intended to aid in dictionary migration from DDL1 to DDLm.
