The long-term course of subsolid nodules and predictors of interval growth on chest CT: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Linyu Wu et al.

Summary: The pooled incidence of interval growth in subsolid nodules (SSNs) after long-term follow-up was 22%, with a 26% incidence reported for pure ground-glass nodules. Although the growth incidence was only 5% after 2 or more years of stability, long-term follow-up is still necessary in certain cases. Moreover, the initial size of the SSN was identified as the most frequent risk factor for growth.

Volume-Based Consolidation-to-Tumor Ratio Is a Useful Predictor for Postoperative Upstaging in Stage I and II Lung Adenocarcinomas

Masanori Shimomura et al.

Summary: This study aimed to identify useful predictors for accurate staging of lung adenocarcinoma patients. By retrospectively reviewing data from 80 patients, various clinical variables and pathological invasion were found to be associated with postoperative upstaging. Volume, serum CEA level, and consolidation-to-tumor ratio were identified as important predictors for accurate staging.

Prediction of future imagery of lung nodule as growth modeling with follow-up computed tomography scans using deep learning: a retrospective cohort study

Guangyu Tao et al.

Summary: This study developed a CT-based visual forecasting system that can accurately predict the imagery of lung nodules in a given future. The system showed promising results in differentiating growth and non-growth nodules and classifying high- and low-risk nodules. Further investigation and validation are needed to fully assess its potential as a prognostication tool.

Clinical and CT Features of Subsolid Pulmonary Nodules With Interval Growth: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Xin Liang et al.

Summary: This study identified clinical and CT features associated with growth of subsolid pulmonary nodules (SSNs) through a systematic review and meta-analysis. Factors such as male sex, history of lung cancer, and nodule size were found to be independent risk factors for SSN growth. These factors should be considered in risk-based follow-up management strategies.

Determination of the optimum definition of growth evaluation for indeterminate pulmonary nodules detected in lung cancer screening

Jong Hyuk Lee et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to determine the best definition for the growth of indeterminate pulmonary nodules detected in lung cancer screening. Through evaluating different measurement methods for the nodules, it was found that volumetric measurement had higher sensitivity but lower specificity compared to diameter measurement.
