Miz1 promotes KRAS-driven lung tumorigenesis by repressing the protocadherin Pcdh10

Jing Yang et al.

Summary: Loss of function of Miz1 inhibits the development of KRAS-mutated lung cancer by reducing cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Miz1 knockout leads to upregulation of Pcdh10, and silencing Pcdh10 rescues the tumor-promoting effects of Miz1 knockout. Therefore, the Miz1/Pcdh10 axis plays a crucial role in oncogenic KRAS-driven lung tumorigenesis.

Innovative mouse models for the tumor suppressor activity of Protocadherin-10 isoforms

Irene Kleinberger et al.

Summary: This study investigates the role of protocadherin-10 (Pcdh10) in tumor formation using a mouse model. The results suggest that the short isoform of Pcdh10 can act as a tumor suppressor, although the molecular mechanisms involved are still unclear.

PCDH10 exerts tumor-suppressor functions through modulation of EGFR/AKT axis in colorectal cancer

Tzu-Ming Jao et al.

Summary: PCDH10 is identified as a tumor suppressor that induces cell cycle retardation and apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells, reverses epithelial-mesenchymal transition process, and inhibits stemness of CRC cells. PCDH10 inhibits AKT/GSK3 beta signaling pathway, reduces beta-catenin activity, and directly engages in negative regulation of EGFR/AKT/beta-catenin signaling pathway for tumor suppression.

Age- and sex-specific fear conditioning deficits in mice lacking Pcdh10, an Autism Associated Gene

Sarah L. Ferri et al.

Summary: Pcdh10(+/-) mice exhibit male-specific social deficits and dark phase hypoactivity. Fear conditioning deficits were observed in males at both ages and in both assays, while females only showed impairment in the cued condition as adults. These findings suggest that Pcdh10(+/-) mice may serve as a useful model for studying male specific brain and behavioral phenotypes related to social and emotional behaviors.

Summary: Hsa_circ_0001666 is downregulated in CRC and its higher expression level is associated with better clinical prognosis. Through regulation of the miR-576-5p/PCDH10 axis, hsa_circ_0001666 suppresses the progression of CRC.

Crosstalk Between DNA Methylation and Gene Mutations in Colorectal Cancer

Maria Dobre et al.

Summary: Colorectal cancer is characterized by mutations and abnormal DNA methylation in tumor suppressor and proto-oncogenes. This study identified nine genes with high methylation levels in tumor tissues compared to normal tissues. Molecular sub-classification based on mutations and epigenetic modifications may help identify epigenetic biomarkers for personalized treatment strategies to improve patient outcomes.

FOXM1-induced miR-552 expression contributes to pancreatic cancer progression by targeting multiple tumor suppressor genes

Xiao Wang et al.

Summary: The study revealed that FOXM1 activates miR-552 to promote pancreatic cancer progression and cell migration. Additionally, miR-552 also influences pancreatic cancer development by downregulating tumor suppressor genes like DACH1, PCDH10, and SMAD4.
