Cord Blood Metabolome and BMI Trajectory from Birth to Adolescence: A Prospective Birth Cohort Study on Early Life Biomarkers of Persistent Obesity

Tingyi Cao et al.

Summary: This study investigated the association between newborn cord blood metabolome and future BMI in a group of high-risk children from low-income urban areas in the US. Different patterns of longitudinal BMI trajectories were identified and specific cord blood plasma metabolites were found to be associated with early-onset overweight and obesity.

The height as an independent risk factor of atrial fi brillation: A review

Hamza Sohail et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown an association between height and atrial fibrillation (AF), as height can alter the development process of AF by affecting factors such as heart size and conduction patterns. While there are multiple underlying mechanisms linking height to AF, tall stature is indeed independently associated with a higher risk of AF development in healthy individuals. Therefore, measures can be taken to monitor, manage, and prevent the progression of AF in individuals with increased height.
