Lattice vibrational characteristics and structure-property relationships of Ca(Mg1/2W1/2)O3 microwave dielectric ceramics with different sintering temperatures

Xiangyu Wang et al.

Summary: The study successfully synthesized Ca(Mg1/2W1/2)O3 (CMW) microwave dielectric ceramics using the solid state reaction method, with X-ray diffraction and Rietveld refinement confirming the structural characteristics and phase. Vibrational modes and lattice vibrational characteristics were studied through Raman scattering and FTIR spectra, with the influence of infrared modes on intrinsic properties elucidated through FTIR spectrum fitting. Finally, structure-property relationships were analyzed based on Raman modes.

Effects of LiF additive on crystal structures, lattice vibrational characteristics and dielectric properties of CaWO4 microwave dielectric ceramics for LTCC applications

Zhongfen An et al.

Summary: This study prepared CaWO4-x wt.% LiF microwave dielectric ceramics through solid-state reaction and investigated the effects of LiF content on their dielectric properties and lattice vibration characteristics. The results showed that LiF can form a liquid phase and increase the compactness of the ceramics, resulting in an increase in quality factor and a decrease in dielectric constant. The study on lattice vibration characteristics revealed that the external modes associated with Ca-O bond vibration have the greatest influence on the dielectric response.

High Qxf values of Zn-Ni co-modified LiMg0.9Zn0.1-xNixPO4 microwave dielectric ceramics for 5G/6G LTCC modules

Shuai Li et al.

Summary: In this study, Zn-Ni co-modified LiMg0.9Zn0.1-xNixO4 microwave dielectric ceramics were synthesized using solid state synthesis method. XRD analysis confirmed the formation of single phase with olivine structure for all ceramic samples. SEM images revealed dense microstructure, consistent with the measured relative density of 97.73%. According to complex chemical bond theory and Raman/infrared reflectance spectra analysis, ionic polarizability, lattice and bond energy were found to primarily affect the relative permittivity (e r), while the P-O bond played a decisive role in Qxf and o f values. The LiMg0.9Zn0.06Ni0.04PO4 composition, sintered at 875 degrees C for 2 hours, exhibited optimum properties with a Qxf value of approximately 153,500 GHz, epsilon(r) value of approximately 7.13, and tau(f) value of approximately -59 ppm/°C. These ceramics are considered excellent candidates for LTCC, waveguide filters, and 5G/6G communication antennas.
