Despite the significant progress in perovskite solar cells (PSCs), challenges remain for their commercialization, including stability issues and the lack of high-throughput production capability. Slot-die coating technology stands out as the most promising method for upscaling PSCs due to its compatibility with roll-to-roll production. PSCs are advancing rapidly towards commercialization, and this review article focuses on the research progress of slot-die-based PSCs and the challenges in their future development.
Although there have been significant developments due to the advantages of perovskite solar cells (PSCs), several challenges still stand in the way of their commercialization. In addition to the issue of stability that needs to be overcome, another huge impediment is the absence of a high-throughput production capability. Currently, slot-die coating is the most promising technology for upscaling of PSCs due to its high compatibility with roll-to-roll production. The PSCs are moving forward toward commercialization at an unprecedented speed. In view of this, this review highlights the research progresses in the area of slot-diebased PSCs and examines the challenges that this technology will encounter in its future development.
