Hydrogeochemistry and reservoir characterization of the Konya geothermal fields, Central Anatolia/Turkey

Aysen Davraz et al.

Summary: A conceptual model of the geothermal system in Konya province was established based on water samples from ten geothermal fields, identifying reservoir rocks, heating sources, the composition of thermal waters, and their connections with different types of rocks. The presence of high chloride in the thermal waters indicates a direct link with the deep geothermal system, while sulphate originates from the dissolution and oxidation of minerals.

Hydrogeochemical characteristics and trace element of geothermal systems in Central Anatolia, Turkey

Aysen Davraz et al.

Summary: Turkey, located on the Alpine-Himalayan orogenic belt, has a significant geothermal potential in Central Anatolia. A study was conducted to determine the hydrogeological and hydrogeochemical properties of geothermal fields in the region, which are used for various purposes such as tourism, greenhouse cultivation, city heating, and industry. The study also identified different water types and reservoir temperatures of the geothermal waters.

Petrophysical evaluation of sandstone gas reservoir using integrated well logs and core data for the Lower Cretaceous Kharita formation, Western Desert, Egypt

Waleed Osman et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the Kharita gas reservoir to enhance production by accurately determining pore throats, pores connectivity, and fluid distribution. Integration of core and logging data responses helps draw inferences about lithology, depositional sequences, facies, and fluid content, based on petrophysical models. The study also utilized a new unconventional petrophysical evaluation approach, resulting in doubling the volumes in the Upper Kharita reservoir.

Hydrochemistry and geothermometry of thermal waters from UAE and their energetic potential assessment

Hakim Saibi et al.

Summary: The United Arab Emirates has two main low-enthalpy geothermal fields, Mubazzarah-Ain Faidha and Ain-Khatt. Research shows that the hot waters in these areas are primarily recharged by rainwater, heat up through deep water circulation, and travel to the surface through fault structures. The geothermal resources in these areas can be used for low-temperature, direct-use geothermal applications with significant geothermal electricity potential.
