Separate quantitative evaluation of degree of order and perpendicular magnetic anisotropy for disorder and order portion in FePt granular films

Takashi Saito et al.

Summary: The study revealed that the degree of order and perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in FePt granular films are influenced by the thickness of the magnetic layer and the grain diameter, as well as by the specific grain boundary material used.

Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy Analysis for L10-Typed FePt Granular Media With Various Grain Boundary Materials by 90 kOe Torquemetry

Takashi Saito et al.

Summary: The study on the magnetic anisotropy of L1(0)-typed FePt granular media reveals that the K-u(perpendicular)exp is strongly correlated with grain diameter and degree of order, while not significantly correlated with the melting point of grain boundary materials.

Magnetocrystalline anisotropy and volume ratio of FePt grains with c-axes parallel to the film plane in FePt granular film with various grain boundary materials

Takashi Saito et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the structure of FePt grains with c-axes parallel to the film plane and their impact on magnetic properties. It was found that in-plane grains had similar structural characteristics to normal grains, and perpendicular magnetic anisotropy depended on the ratio of in-plane to normal grains as well as the degree of order. The magnetocrystalline anisotropy for perfectly ordered FePt grains was estimated to be 3.43 x 10(7) erg cm(-3).
