The influence of the community climate on users' knowledge-sharing intention: the social cognitive theory perspective

Yang Cai et al.

Summary: The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence mechanism of community climate on knowledge-sharing intention in virtual communities. The results show that knowledge-sharing self-efficacy and outcome expectation mediate the relationship between community climate and knowledge-sharing intention. This study provides practical insights on facilitating knowledge sharing in online Q&A communities by understanding the mechanism of community climate.

A predictive model of the knowledge-sharing intentions of social Q&A community members: A regression tree approach

Yang Cai et al.

Summary: This study, drawing on social cognitive theory, used decision tree analysis to explore the knowledge-sharing intentions of social Q&A community members. It found that high levels of sharing intentions were associated with strong enjoyment of sharing and perceived fairness, while those with lower enjoyment levels were influenced by the sharing culture and extrinsic motivations.

Episodic Peripheral Contributors and Technical Dependencies in Open Source Software (OSS) Ecosystems

Eunyoung Moon

Summary: Although OSS contributors avoid traditional organizational hierarchies, they are able to successfully coordinate highly interdependent tasks and system designs through tightly coupled code contributions. This study reveals that contributors create complex software ecosystems by reusing and depending on each other, leading to different code-contribution patterns.
