Texture analysis of muscle MRI: machine learning-based classifications in idiopathic inflammatory myopathies

Keita Nagawa et al.

Summary: This study developed a machine learning model using muscle MRI radiomics features to predict disease groups or autoantibodies in patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies. The models showed the potential to distinguish between different disease groups, such as PM, DM, and ADM, with better performance using LBP features. However, the accuracy of the models in distinguishing between non-IIM and IIM disease groups was low. Subgroup analysis revealed varying accuracy in predicting autoantibody status.
