Prospective Phase II Open-Label Randomized Controlled Trial to Compare Mandibular Preservation in Upfront Surgery With Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Followed by Surgery in Operable Oral Cavity Cancer

Devendra Chaukar et al.

Summary: This study examined the potential role and safety of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in preserving the mandible in oral cancers. The results showed that NACT can achieve mandibular preservation with similar survival rates compared to standard surgical treatment. However, chemotherapy-induced toxicity was observed in the majority of patients in the NACT group.
