Scleroglucan and guar gum: The synergistic effects of a new polysaccharide system

Tommasina Coviello et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of the addition of borax on a mixed system of Scleroglucan and guar gum. It reveals synergistic effects in terms of critical time, mesh size, and crosslinking density. The study also finds that the flexible chains of guar gum contribute to the self-healing properties of the mixed gel system.

Hydrogel Mesh Size and Its Impact on Predictions of Mathematical Models of the Solute Diffusion Coefficient

Brian G. Amsden

Summary: In this study, the use of the correlation length as the mesh size along with the obstruction model was found to yield the most consistent agreement between experimental data and model predictions, while the use of the mesh radius did not yield good agreement with the experimental data.
