Evaluation of subclinical atherosclerosis in rosacea patients by flow-mediated dilatation method

Summary: This study aimed to assess endothelial dysfunction in rosacea patients using the flow-mediated dilatation (FMD) method. The results showed a significant decrease in FMD values in rosacea patients compared to healthy controls. Rosacea patients also exhibited a higher prevalence of metabolic syndrome, abnormal blood pressure, and altered cell indicators. Therefore, rosacea is not restricted to skin involvement but may have systemic implications, increasing the risk of atherosclerosis.

Changes in Lipoprotein Particles in the Blood Serum of Patients with Lichen Planus

Summary: The aim of this study was to identify the changes in blood serum metabolites, lipoproteins, and lipoprotein particles between lichen planus patients and healthy controls, in order to gain a better understanding of the disease's pathophysiology and metabolic aspects. Significant changes were found in the components of lipoproteins, which may increase the risk for specific comorbidities (such as dyslipidemia) and resulting cardiovascular diseases.

These comorbidities are associated with immune system imbalance, resulting in chronic inflammation and increased risk of cardiovascular events. It is crucial to carefully evaluate and treat metabolic disorders in children with AD to minimize long-term cardiovascular risks.

Investigation of the relationship between seborrheic dermatitis and metabolic syndrome parameters

Summary: This study suggests that there is a relationship between seborrheic dermatitis and metabolic syndrome, with a higher prevalence of metabolic syndrome in seborrheic dermatitis patients. Compared to the control group, seborrheic dermatitis patients had higher levels of triglycerides, lower levels of high-density lipoprotein, and higher blood pressure. The findings indicate that seborrheic dermatitis should be considered as a marker for metabolic syndrome, and the detection and treatment of metabolic syndrome in this group of patients can be helpful for early diagnosis and improvement of the disease.

Untargeted metabolomics analysis of the plasma metabolic signature of moderate-to-severe acne

Summary: This study investigated the abnormal metabolites and metabolic pathways in patients with moderate-to-severe acne vulgaris. LC-MS/MS analysis of plasma metabolites was conducted on acne patients and healthy controls, identifying significant differential metabolites and metabolic pathways. The top three metabolites, namely 2-oxoadipic acid, Myo-inositol, and Citrate, were found to be highly associated with acne vulgaris. The most closely related metabolic pathways included ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters and sphingolipid signaling pathway. These findings provide new insight into the link between plasma metabolic changes and acne vulgaris.
