Design, Synthesis and Antifungal Activity of Novel 1,4-Pentadiene-3-one Containing Quinazolinone

Summary: Twenty 1,4-pentadiene-3-one derivatives containing quinazolinone (W1-W20) were synthesized and tested for bioactivity. W12 demonstrated excellent antifungal activity both in vitro and in vivo, with higher efficacy than the control drug azoxystrobin. Scanning electron microscopy results revealed that W12 caused abnormal collapse and shrinkage of the hyphae of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, inhibiting mycelium growth.

Novel 1,3,4-oxadiazole sulfonate/carboxylate flavonoid derivatives: synthesis and biological activity

Summary: The 1,3,4-oxadiazole sulfonate/carboxylate flavonoid derivatives, specifically D4, demonstrated excellent antibacterial and antiviral effects. Through scanning electron microscopy, it was found that D4 could cause deformation or rupture of bacterial cell membranes. Additionally, D4 exhibited remarkable in vivo curative and protective activities against tobacco mosaic virus. Microscale thermophoresis data indicated that D4 had a stronger binding capacity compared to the control agent ningnanmycin.

Synthesis and biological activity of amide derivatives derived from natural product Waltherione F

Summary: Structural optimization based on natural products is an effective approach for developing new fungicides and it plays an important role in promoting the green development of pesticides. In this study, target compounds with 4-quinolone and piperazine substructures were synthesized and their biological activities were evaluated. Several compounds showed higher inhibition rates against Rhizoctonia solani and higher cytotoxicity against HepG2 cells. Additionally, fluorescence investigation demonstrated a compound with higher fluorescence quantum yield in solution.

Nematicidal, antifungal and insecticidal activities of Artemisia halodendron extracts: New polyacetylenes involved

Antimicrobial evaluation of myricetin derivatives containing benzimidazole skeleton against plant pathogens
