Optimization of Forming Parameters in Incremental Sheet Forming of AA3003-H18 Sheets Using Taguchi Method

Mohanraj Murugesan et al.

Summary: This research aimed to determine the optimal forming parameters using the Taguchi method in order to produce high-quality formed products. The results showed that the vertical step size had the most significant influence on surface roughness, followed by the feed rate and the forming tool radius. The optimal settings were found to be forming tool radius at level 3, spindle speed at level 1, vertical step size at level 1, and feed rate at level 4. Additionally, the response surface methodology was effectively used to predict surface roughness.

High-temperature tensile characteristics and constitutive models of ultrahigh strength steel

DongXu Wen et al.

Summary: The study reveals that the high-temperature tensile behavior of the steel shows typical work hardening and dynamic recovery characteristics. The necking capability increases with decreasing strain rate and increasing tensile temperature. However, the presence of large deep dimples significantly reduces the loading capability and leads to poor elongation to fracture at low strain rates. The Arrhenius-type phenomenological (AP) model developed by the Nelder-Mead (NM) simplex method shows high accuracy and narrow error bands compared to other models.
