Energy and economic evaluation of MSW incineration and gasification in Brazil

Process optimization and investigating the effects of torrefaction and pelletization on steam gasification of canola residue

Summary: In this study, steam gasification of pellets prepared from canola residue was conducted to find the optimal gasification temperature and equivalence ratio. The torrefaction and densification of canola residue significantly improved the yield of syngas. The gasification of torrefied canola residue pellets at optimal conditions resulted in high gas yield, carbon conversion efficiency, and gas energy recovery. The tar obtained from the gasification of canola residue pellets contained various depolymerized products. The biochar produced at higher gasification temperatures had greater aromaticity, carbon content, heating value, and thermal stability.

Torrefaction of low-value agro-industrial wastes using macro-TGA with GC-TCD/FID analysis: Physicochemical characterization, kinetic investigation, and evolution of non-condensable gases
