Production of hydrogen and carbon in the petrochemical industry by cracking of hydrocarbons in the process of heat utilization in steel production

A. L. Gusev et al.

Summary: Preliminary calculations show that the heat from blast-furnace and converter processes in global steel production can generate 530 million tons of hydrogen, which is about 8 times higher than the current annual production. By utilizing the heat of cooling steel for methane pyrolysis, mankind can achieve a significant increase in hydrogen production. However, there are challenges that need to be addressed, such as studying the behavior of saturated hydrocarbons, optimizing the removal of soot from the cracking processor, and designing the catalytic cracking processor.

Analysis of the influence of the current-voltage characteristics of the voltage rectifiers on the static characteristics of hydrogen electrolyzer load

R. A. Ufa et al.

Summary: Determining the static load characteristics of an electrolyzer used in hydrogen production through mathematical modeling is essential for understanding its impact on power system parameters. The analysis reveals that within the control range, the electrolyzer's static characteristics are close to linear, but outside the range, they show parabolic dependencies of active and reactive power on voltage. The determination of static load characteristics is crucially influenced by the parameters of the power circuit and the current-voltage characteristic of the rectifiers.
