Coke-resistance over Rh-Ni bimetallic catalyst for low temperature dry reforming of methane

Yiru Mao et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of bimetallic RhNi catalysts supported on MgAl2O4 were synthesized and used for low-temperature biogas dry reforming. The results showed that the RhNi catalyst achieved high conversion rates of CH4 and CO2 at low reaction temperature (600 degrees C) without carbon deposition. The enhanced coking resistance was attributed to the addition of Rh, which efficiently suppressed carbon formation, and the high surface areas of the MgAl2O4 support, which promoted CO2 adsorption and activation.

Ashvin L. L. Karemore et al.

Summary: In this study, the performance of two Pt-based catalysts in the process of carbon dioxide reforming of methane (CDRM) was investigated. The effects of parameters such as space time, CO2/CH4 ratio, and time-on-stream on the conversion and yield of CH4 and CO2 were analyzed. The kinetics of CDRM were also studied and analyzed using different kinetic models.

Alloying Ni-Cu Nanoparticles Encapsulated in SiO2 Nanospheres for Synergistic Catalysts in CO2 Reforming with Methane Reaction

Kaihang Han et al.

Summary: In this study, Ni-Cu alloy nanoparticles encapsulated in SiO2 nanospheres were used for CO2 reforming with methane (CRM) reaction. The combination of alloy effect, size effect, metal-support interaction, and confinement effect exhibited high performance, good sintering resistance, and trace carbon deposition in CRM. The appropriate Cu-addition catalysts showed better performance than the excessive Cu-addition catalysts, and the synergy of various effects in the 0.5CuNi@SiO2 catalyst contributed to the highest rates of CH4 and CO2 conversion in CRM reported so far.

Ni-Re alloy catalysts on Al2O3 for methane dry reforming

Marcin Cichy et al.

Summary: Methane reforming with CO2 is a hot research topic due to the increasing demand for new hydrogen sources. In this study, a series of commercial nickel catalysts supported on a-Al2O3 and modified with different amounts of rhenium were investigated. The addition of rhenium positively influenced the stability and activity of the catalyst, and the formation of Ni-Re alloy played a significant role in enhancing its properties.

Qi Song et al.

Summary: Mesoporous silica was used in combination with the ammonia evaporation method to prepare highly dispersed Ni catalysts for the dry reforming of methane. Among the catalysts studied, the 10% Ni-SiO2 catalyst exhibited the best catalytic performance with the highest conversions of CH4 and CO2 at 600 degrees C, attributed to its optimal Ni content and highly dispersed metal nanoparticles in the mesopores.
