Solar concentration for green environmental remediation opportunity- international review: advances, constraints and their practice in wastewater treatment

Summary: Water and energy security are major concerns in modern societies. Conventional wastewater treatments are energy-intensive and generate toxic contaminants. Utilizing solar-driven advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) provides a viable alternative for sustainable wastewater remediation. This review focuses on the utilization of AOPs with natural and artificial energy sources, particularly solar energy, for wastewater treatment. The paper summarizes recent research on AOPs and evaluates the feasibility and performance of solar photochemical processes in wastewater treatment. This approach shows promise for cost-effective and sustainable wastewater treatment, especially in developing countries.
