Briquette preparation with biomass binder

Zhenyong Miao et al.

Summary: This study developed a new method to prepare briquettes with higher combustion characteristics and lower pollution emissions. It was found that treating biomass with alkali agents or adding sulfur-fixing agents can reduce SO2 emissions, but molding the sample increased total SO2 emissions. Biomass, alkali treatment, and the addition of sulfur-fixing agents significantly decreased NO emissions.
