S. Nehru et al.

Summary: The biophysical interaction between amphiphilic fluorescent surfactant-ruthenium(II) complexes, its precursor ruthenium(II) complexes, and drug-carrying proteins like BSA and HSA was studied using UV-visible absorption, fluorescence, and circular dichroism spectroscopy. The results showed that the surfactant-ruthenium(II) complexes interacted more effectively with the proteins compared to their precursor complexes, with the head group size having a greater influence on the interactions. Additionally, temperature changes affected the binding strength differently for each type of complex, likely due to electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions.
