When should we use corticosteroids in severe community-acquired pneumonia?

Summary: Recent studies have shown that corticosteroids as adjunctive therapy in patients with severe community-acquired pneumonia do not significantly impact survival rates, and may even be associated with potential harmful effects, such as invasive aspergillosis. Further research is needed to identify subgroups of patients who may benefit from corticosteroid treatment.
