Covalently connected core-shell NH2-MIL-125@COFs-OH hybrid materials for visible-light-driven CO2 reduction

Jiajia Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, covalently connected core-shell metal-organic frameworks (MOFs)@covalent-organic frameworks (COFs) hybrid materials were successfully synthesized. The hybrid materials exhibited high surface area and abundant unsaturated metal sites. The COFs shell provided excellent physicochemical stability, visible-light response, and suitable band gaps. The formed heterostructure showed improved CO2 photocatalytic reduction performance by enhancing electron transfer and separation of electron-hole pairs.

An effective combination of reusable Pd@MOF catalyst and deep eutectic solvents for high-performance C-C coupling reaction

Minh-Huy Dinh Dang et al.

Summary: Pd(II)BUT-11, a Pd-incorporated Zr-based metal-organic framework with sulfone groups, was successfully prepared by dispersing the sulfone-functionalized MOF in Pd(OAc)(2) solution. The Pd-incorporated MOF exhibited efficient heterogeneous catalytic performance for synthesizing various stilbene derivatives via the cross-coupling Heck reaction with a DABCO-derived deep eutectic solvent (DES) as a green solvent. The catalyst and solvent could be recovered and reused, maintaining their activity and structure stability.

Using transition metal-based deep eutectic solvents to synthesize transition metal-doped carbon nitrides for photo-Fenton degradation of organic dyes and antibiotics

Ning Wang et al.

Summary: Transition metal doped g-C3N4 composites have shown promising potential as catalysts for degrading organic pollutants. This study successfully synthesized Co-x-CN and Co1.2Fey-CN composites using deep eutectic solvents as reaction media, and these composites displayed excellent photo-Fenton activities for degrading organic dyes and antibiotics.

Effective Enrichment of Low-Concentration Rare-Earth Ions by Three-Dimensional Thiostannate K2Sn2S5

Ji-Ming Yu et al.

Summary: In this study, the thiostannate K2Sn2S5 (KTS-2) was used as an ion-exchange material for capturing rare-earth elements (REEs) from wastewater, demonstrating excellent performance with removal rates exceeding 95% for all 16 REEs without causing secondary pollution. KTS-2 showed high capture capacity, short equilibrium time, and a high distribution coefficient for Yb3+ ions, making it a promising eco-friendly material for REE ion exchange.

One-step synthesis of single palladium atoms in WO2.72 with high efficiency in chemoselective hydrodeoxygenation of vanillin

Zhijun Li et al.

Summary: This study presents a one-step synthetic approach to fabricate a catalyst with atomically dispersed palladium atoms bonded covalently to nearby oxygen atoms, which shows outstanding catalytic performance and stability in the hydrodeoxygenation of vanillin. This high activity is attributed to the unique electronic structure of isolated palladium atoms confined in defective WO2.72, paving the way for the advancement of single atom catalysis through a coordination-engineered strategy.
