Application of Nanostructured TiO2 in UV Photodetectors: A Review

Ziliang Li et al.

Summary: Titanium dioxide (TiO2) as a wide-bandgap semiconductor material has gained significant attention for applications in fields like environmental and energy. Constructing high-performance photodetectors (PDs) based on TiO2 nanostructures with efficient microtopography and device configuration, while understanding key parameters influencing carrier behavior, is crucial for improved photoelectric performance and functional applications. This work provides an in-depth illustration of the electrical and optical properties of TiO2 nanostructures and advancements in technological issues for future applications.

The influences of Ni, Ag-doped TiO2 and SnO2, Ag-doped SnO2/TiO2 nanocomposites on recombination reduction in dye synthesized solar cells

Farzaneh Khojasteh et al.

Summary: The effects of doped nanoparticles and nanocomposites as photoanode on the performance of Dye synthesized Solar Cells were studied using various synthesis methods, XRD, FE-SEM, TEM, FTIR, optical absorption spectra and EIS analysis. The study showed that the photovoltaic properties of DSSCs largely depend on the compounds and structure of photoanodes. The DSSC based on Ag-doped SnO2/TiO2 exhibited the highest conversion efficiency due to lower charge transfer resistance, recombination, and higher short-circuit photocurrent.

An experimental and theoretical study on the photocatalytic antibacterial activity of boron-doped TiO2 nanoparticles

Yuzheng Wang et al.

Summary: Boron-doped titanium dioxide nanoparticles (B-TiO2 NPs) were prepared by a sol-gel method and characterized by various techniques. The experimental results demonstrate that doping boron ions can enhance the photocatalytic antibacterial performance of B-TiO2 NPs, with boron atoms mainly existing as substitutional and interstitial dopants.

Structural Evolution of Palygorskite as the Nanocarrier of Silver Nanoparticles for Improving Antibacterial Activity

Hong Zhang et al.

Summary: The carrier performance of palygorskite can be significantly improved by controlling its structure, morphology, and activity. In this study, silver nanoparticles were immobilized on palygorskite nanorods to form antibacterial nanocomposites, and their dispersion uniformity and antibacterial properties were evaluated. The results showed that the nanocomposite with the highest antibacterial properties was achieved by controlling the dissolution degree of the palygorskite and optimizing the balance between surface activity and structural stability.

Wound dressing properties of functionalized environmentally biopolymer loaded with selenium nanoparticles

M. K. Ahmed et al.

Summary: A wound dressing with antibacterial properties was developed by fabricating a polymeric blend based on chitosan/poly(vinyl alcohol) containing selenium nanoparticles. The nanocomposite showed the ability to kill and inhibit the growth of tested pathogenic E. coli and S. aureus bacteria. The surface morphology and roughness of the films were characterized using XRD, FESEM and TGA.
